April is set to be an electrifying month for fans of Marvel Contest of Champions (MCOC), with a slew of new additions that promise to keep players engaged and entertained. Leading the charge is the much-anticipated arrival of Spider-Woman, a champion who brings a unique backstory and thrilling abilities to the game.
The Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, known as Jessica Drew, has a compelling origin story. As a child, she suffered from severe illness due to uranium exposure near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her life by conducting a radical experiment, injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a long and arduous recovery, Jessica not only overcame the experiment's adverse effects but emerged with extraordinary spider-like powers, ultimately becoming Spider-Woman. Fans can add this dynamic new champion to their roster starting April 17th.
Before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another intriguing champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. Designed by the enigmatic Founders, Lumatrix is one of the most formidable assassins in the game, equipped with dazzling light-based powers for infiltration and elimination missions.
What Else Is New?
On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with dramatic intensity. Carina suffers severe injuries after clashing with Ouroborus' forces, while Doctor Doom forms an unexpected alliance with the Fantastic Four. The sinister spread of Chronoserpent corruption adds to the tension, and a new villain, Lotan, emerges to challenge the heroes.
A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," launches on April 9th and will run through May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow delves into the enigmatic Eidols, enlisting the help of Spider-Woman to unravel the mystery.
The iconic Dark Phoenix is set to return in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties." Players will have the opportunity to hunt down champions targeted by Dark Phoenix's bounties and claim their rewards.
The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector also makes a comeback, offering players a chance to assemble their strongest Saga champions and battle through for valuable rewards, including Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
