Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, players enjoy the strategic freedom of equipping two weapons before each Operation. With six distinct weapon types available, crafting a character to match your playstyle is a breeze. Mix and match to your heart's content!

Three melee and three ranged weapon types offer unique charged attack capabilities. Each weapon is fully customizable, allowing for deep strategic personalization.

Every Weapon Type in *Freedom Wars Remastered*

Six weapon types await, unlockable through Operations or Zakka's shop in The Warren. While you can't customize your Comrade's loadout, your Accessory's weapon is entirely up to you. Change weapons freely—there's no penalty for frequent switching.

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced combat, targeting single enemies. Sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-sweeping attacks inflict significant damage. Well-placed attacks hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch you into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks often propel you forward, maintaining distance from incoming attacks. Charged attacks hurl the polearm for massive damage from a safe range.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous angles or safe-distance attacks.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage with low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by rapid fire. Reduces movement speed.

Note: Your Accessory's gun weapons have unlimited ammo.
