Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Characters
Ahead of the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie, Lego has released details of two new sets offering glimpses into the film's action-packed scenes and character roster. As reported by Games Radar, these sets – the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack – expand the existing Minecraft Lego lineup, incorporating minifigures of key characters like Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man.
The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring ($49.99, 491 pieces) depicts a gladiator-style battle. Momoa's character faces off against a zombie riding a significantly oversized chicken (the scale is currently unclear). The set also includes Steve, his companion Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing platform with weaponry.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) showcases a large-scale battle in a typical overworld village, featuring the Nether's Ghast. This set includes a villager minifigure, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets launch March 1st, a month before the Minecraft movie's theatrical release on April 4th. The film's initial trailer sparked controversy among fans due to the perceived visual disconnect between the live-action actors and the animated world. However, the director and producer, in a November interview with IGN, expressed confidence in their vision and preparedness for audience reactions.
