Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the early stages of developing a new film that would bring together Deadpool and several X-Men characters. According to THR, this project would differ from typical Deadpool-centric films as Reynolds envisions a shared spotlight where Deadpool supports a cast of three to four X-Men characters who would take the lead and be utilized in innovative ways.
This proposed movie would be distinct from the X-Men film currently being developed by Hunger Games writer Michael Lesslie. Reynolds, known for nurturing his creative ideas independently before presenting them to Marvel, is following a similar development path as he did with Deadpool & Wolverine, which initially was conceived as a low-budget road trip movie.
While the specific X-Men characters to appear alongside Deadpool remain undisclosed, the Merc With a Mouth has a history of teaming up with various members of the X-Men in past films, including Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit.
