Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite mechanics. Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, which suffered from a devastating magical cataclysm, the narrative explores a society gripped by fear of magic. The tyrannical King-Sun Azra capitalizes on this fear, using his Crimson Order to enslave mages. However, hope emerges through a band of courageous heroes: the necromancer Galandra, the rebellious gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr, who unite to overthrow the oppressive ruler.
Players diving into Absolum will experience adrenaline-pumping combat, featuring upgradable abilities, powerful combos, and enchanting magical spells. The game supports both solo adventures and cooperative play, allowing players to synergize their attacks and execute devastating combinations together.
Adding to the immersive experience, the game's soundtrack is being composed by an ensemble of legendary talents: Gareth Coker, known for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, celebrated for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundtracks of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025 and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, promising an enthralling experience for fans of the genre.
