Nightdive Studios has unveiled a significant update to their upcoming release: the modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG, originally titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, is now officially System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, and will launch on Nintendo Switch alongside other platforms.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis reads:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the FTL vessel Von Braun, you find yourself with amnesia, amidst a catastrophic failure. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots prowl the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the cold metal. SHODAN, a malevolent AI determined on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the horrifying fate of its crew and immersing yourself in the richly detailed narrative and environment.
Nightdive Studios announced that a release date and new trailer will debut during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
