Tier II/Fine Gear Guide for Avowed

Author : Lucas Feb 20,2025

In Avowed, upgrading your weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature primarily Common (Level I) weapons and enemies. However, as the difficulty increases to Level II, you'll need Fine (Level II) gear. This guide details how to acquire Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II)

While some Fine Quality items can be found or purchased, others require upgrading. Avowed gear uses a two-part system: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and upgrade levels (+1 to +3). Common (I) gear is green, while Fine (II) gear is blue.

To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), visit a Party Camp workbench. Each upgrade level (+1 to +3) requires specific materials. After reaching +3, you can upgrade to Fine (II) using Adra, a rare crystal obtained from quests, merchants, or dismantling Unique items.

Upgrading is resource-intensive. Alternatively, you can find Fine (II) weapons and armor early in Dawnshore, though this is infrequent. Level II enemies, particularly Bounties, may also drop Fine (II) gear. However, Common gear is less effective against Level II enemies, so carry ample health potions.

Merchants in Paradis also sell Fine (II) gear. Access to Paradis is granted after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sisters operate nearby stalls; Merlylin sells magical items (grimoires, wands), while her blacksmith sister sells standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This concludes your guide to obtaining Fine weapons and armor in Avowed.
