Netflix Unveils Devil May Cry Anime Opening Trailer, Featuring Limp Bizkit
Following the recent announcement of its premiere date, Netflix dropped the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game franchise.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision for the series. He explained that the anime's late 90s/early 2000s setting is perfectly complemented by its soundtrack, which includes not only Limp Bizkit but also other period-defining tracks. A reimagined synthwave soundtrack from the games, courtesy of Power Glove, is also anticipated.
Shankar hinted at a multi-season arc, stating that subsequent seasons will sport distinct visual styles and soundtracks to reflect the diverse nature of the Devil May Cry games.
Plot specifics remain under wraps. However, the first season is rumored to draw inspiration from the Code 1: Dante manga (based on Devil May Cry 3), focusing on a young Dante investigating a child's disappearance. This investigation will reportedly force him to confront his father Sparda's demonic legacy and his own family history.
The eight-episode first season is slated to premiere on April 3, 2025.
