The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, running from January 21st to 26th, marks the highly anticipated debut of the Corviknight evolutionary line: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This addition expands the game's Galar region Pokémon roster.
The arrival was subtly teased in December 2024's Dual Destiny Season loading screen, featuring Rookidee and Corviknight before their official announcement. The Steely Resolve event will include:
- New Pokémon: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight will make their first appearance.
- Special Research: A new Dual Destiny Special Research storyline with unique rewards.
- Field Research: New tasks offering various rewards.
- Shiny Pokémon: Increased chances to encounter shiny versions of several Pokémon (Clefairy, Machop, Totodile, Marill, Hoppip, Paldean Wooper, Shieldon, Bunnelby, Mareanie, Lickitung, Skorupi, Pancham, Amaura, Deoxys (Attack & Defense Forms), Dialga, Mega Gallade, and Mega Medicham).
- Bonuses: Magnetic Lure Modules will attract Pokémon like Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee. Charged TMs can remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon. Increased spawns of Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, and Carbink, among others.
- Raids: One-star, five-star (featuring Deoxys and Dialga), and Mega raids will be available.
- Eggs: 2km Eggs will have a chance to hatch Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee.
- Featured Attacks: Evolving specific Pokémon during the event will grant them unique attacks (e.g., Corviknight learning Iron Head).
- GO Battle Week (Dual Destiny): Running concurrently, this event offers 4x Stardust from win rewards, increased daily battle sets, free battle-themed Timed Research, and varied Pokémon stats in GO Battle League rewards.
The event promises a packed schedule, complementing other January events like Shadow Raids featuring Shadow Ho-Oh, Dynamax raids with Kanto Legendary Birds, and the return of Pokémon GO Community Day Classic. Trainers are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the Steely Resolve event to maximize their chances of catching these new Pokémon and earning valuable rewards.
