Getting started is simple:

  • Begin by taking a trip on a train, bus, tram, or metro.
  • Select your preferred method of checking in and out, whether it's with a debit card, credit card, or your mobile.
  • If you've traveled by public transport in the Netherlands, download the app.
  • You'll need an account to access all the app's features. Don't worry; we'll guide you through the process step by step.
  • Once your account is set up and you've completed your first trip, your new checking method will be added, unlocking all the app's functionalities.

What is OVpay?

OVpay is a collaborative initiative by all Dutch public transport carriers including Arriva, Connexxion, EBS, GVB, HTM, Keolis, NS, Qbuzz, RET, and Transdev, working alongside Translink and Dutch banks. The app complements the traditional 'OV-chipkaart' by allowing you to check in and out using your debit card, credit card, or mobile phone.
