Details on Remedy's Current Game Development Projects

Remedy Entertainment's annual report brings exciting news for gamers: Control 2 has successfully navigated through its concept validation stage and is now in full production. This crucial milestone underscores the project's promising trajectory and solidifies its advancement within the development pipeline. Fans of the franchise can look forward to the continuation of the gripping narrative and innovative gameplay that defined its predecessor.

In addition to Control 2, two other ambitious projects are making significant strides: FBC: Firebreak and the much-anticipated remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these titles were in the preliminary stages of production preparation, but they have now progressed to more advanced development phases. This rapid progression highlights Remedy's commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences. However, it's worth noting that the project Kestrel, which was being co-developed with Tencent, has been officially canceled since May of last year and will not proceed.

All of these exciting projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary Northlight engine, which has already demonstrated its capabilities in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy games. The use of this engine ensures that the games will benefit from cutting-edge technology and a seamless gameplay experience.

Regarding budgets, Control 2 is set with a substantial investment of 50 million euros. This self-published title will be available on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC, promising a wide reach to fans across different platforms. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak has a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This project will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on popular PC platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store, enhancing its accessibility to a broad audience.

The budget details for the remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain undisclosed, but they are confirmed to be developed to AAA standards. These remakes are fully funded by Rockstar Games, ensuring robust development and marketing support that will bring these iconic titles back to life in a grand manner.
